This is a basket from Torigoe Bamboo Craft in Iwate Prefecture.
This basket was woven during a time when there was an abundance of Suzutake bamboo, using the time-consuming two-strand weaving technique.

The handles and rims have aged to an amber color.
There are some color variations on the handles, which adds to the character.
This item has been stored for a long time but is still sturdy.
There are some areas where the condition is not uniform due to aging (especially the rims and handles). There is one repaired area. See the last image. There are no problems with use.
